Welcome to the pond1.

Here, I list some rules that I will follow when I post things on the blog, but you are not obliged to follow them at all.

No. 1 Writing for fun

As one of my favorite hackers Robert Nystrom put it:

I don’t think ornithology books worry about justifying their existence. They assume the reader loves birds and start teaching.

I write things down not because it’s useful, but simply because I think it’s fun.

No. 2 Responsible use of AI

Every word and every line of code originates from me (unless specified). AI2 may help me correct my writing, but never generates the content itself.

No. 3 Creative contribution

Some of my projects are inspired by or based on others’ work. In addition to clarifying the source, each project I post will meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. Solve the problem with a different approach or implementation.
  2. Add new features.
  3. Apply an approach to a different problem.

  1. The title The Pond Rules is a reference to the 2026 film Hoppers↩︎

  2. Here, the term AI mostly means “generative AI” like ChatGPT and Claude. ↩︎
